Ascendo coffee is a San Luis Obispo coffee shop. We began with the idea of making the world a better place through our business. This idea is still the heart of our vision. We are truly humbled by all the beautiful relationships we have formed in our community.
We fell down the rabbit whole of roasting coffee in 2014 and haven’t looked back since. It is the cornerstone of our passion for coffee. We have spent many hours testing roast profiles and rebuilding and modifying our roasters. We have become very confident in our ability to roast specialty coffee consistently well.
We moved from our small hole in the wall to a 2800 square foot building just two doors down from our shop in 2015. With the help of some friends and family, we did all of the construction ourselves. It was an incredible and humble experience to build something from scratch with the help of the community that we helped create.
In 2017, we changed our name to Ascendo Coffee. Ascendo Coffee! Same people, same values, same coffee! Ascendo means “I rise” in latin. The whole of our journey can be described by rising from the very little we had at the beginning. We couldn’t get up every morning without our coffee.
